  • Garden Cress or Common Cress fast-growing, edible herb. Garden cress is genetically related to watercress and mustard, sharing their peppery, tangy flavour and aroma.  Garden cress is a very easy plant to grow. 
  • Garden cress is usually cultivated for its leaves, which are used in salads, on sandwiches, and as baby greens. The leaves and seed pods have a peppery taste. Garden Cress is a hardy annual, and can be successfully grown outdoors. 
  • Sow your cress seeds directly into a shallow rill in the vegetable patch or raised bed. You can also sow them into window boxes and patio containers if you're short on garden space. Lightly cover the cress seeds with soil and water well.
